Faith Enables Obedience

Instead of releasing man

from obedience,

it is faith,

and faith only,

that makes us partakers

of the grace of Christ,

which enables us

to render obedience.

Roots.

Take them out by the roots.  

Let’s take them out. 

Break up your fallow ground.

Your heavenly Father 

“is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil” (Luke 6:35),

because He has stooped to lift you up, therefore, said Jesus,

you  may become like Him in character,

and stand without fault in the presence of men and angels.

I always earn my way to the top.

I always fight for what I want.

I always assert myself, put on my aggressive face, and get what I deserve.

But I don’t deserve You. I don’t deserve Your grace. 

I can’t offer you anything. I can’t allure You or bribe me into giving me Your gift.

I’m just like everyone else: in need of grace. I need Your grace. I just need some grace…

right now. 

I need Your light to shine upon me.

Whatever comes to him comes from Christ.  He has no need to resist evil, for Christ is his defense.  Nothing can touch him except by our LORD’s permission and 

“all things” that are permitted work together for good to them that love God.
